Free Groceries for LA County Families, No ID Required

You do not need government paperwork to prove you are hungry. You just need to show up. Operating every Wednesday and the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month in the City of Inglewood. Walk in, receive high-quality groceries, and be treated with the absolute respect you deserve.

Fighting Food Insecurity in LA County's Engineered Food Deserts

Food deserts do not happen by accident. They are the calculated result of decades of redlining, discriminatory zoning, and economic abandonment that have left massive swaths of South Los Angeles and Inglewood without a single affordable supermarket. Right now, a staggering 41% of households in our immediate service area are battling food insecurity. Even those receiving CalFresh are being crushed by inflation, and impending federal cuts are pushing families closer to the brink of catastrophe.

When municipal policy fails to feed the people, the community must step into the breach. We refuse to let children go hungry, seniors choose between vital medication and meals, or unhoused residents rely on toxic fast food simply because of their zip code. This is about nutritional justice.

How the Eat Manna Food Pantry Works

Walk In, Receive Groceries, No Paperwork

We have stripped away the bureaucracy to prioritize your dignity. Here is exactly what happens when you arrive at our Inglewood distribution center:

  1. You Are Welcomed:There is no interrogation. There are no invasive forms to fill out.
  2. You Receive Real Food:We provide heavy, sustainable grocery bags loaded with high-quality protein, canned goods, fresh baked items, and desserts.
  3. You Get Connected:While you pick up your food, our lived-experience staff is on-site to offer TAP card enrollment, medical navigation, and direct housing referrals if you need them.

2025 Impact — 16,248 Families Fed, 778,178 Pounds Distributed

We don’t just talk about the nutritional crisis; we move the weight required to solve it. Last year, operating across 76 high-intensity distribution days, our grassroots logistics network averaged 1,200 families served per week, moving over three-quarters of a million pounds of fresh food into the homes that needed it most.

Who we Serve

Serving Low-Income Families, Seniors, Foster Youth & Formerly Incarcerated Adults
Hunger does not discriminate, and neither do we. The faces of food insecurity in LA County are incredibly diverse, and the Eat Manna Food Pantry is intentionally designed to serve individuals who easily fall through the cracks of traditional safety nets.

Our trauma-informed, culturally humble approach focuses on:

Low-Income & Undocumented Families: Providing a safe haven where immigration status is never questioned, ensuring children and parents have the fuel they need to survive.

Seniors on Fixed Incomes: Protecting our elders who are hit hardest by inflation, ensuring they never have to choose between their prescriptions and their groceries.

Current & Transitioning Foster Youth: Offering a stable, welcoming anchor for young people navigating life without a traditional familial safety net.

Formerly Incarcerated Adults: Removing systemic barriers for system-impacted individuals who are actively working to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society.

At Eat Manna, we emphasize dignity and belonging over the concept of “charity.” We are not saving you; we are standing with you.

Stories & Testimonials

Real Stories From the Eat Manna Community

Partnering With the LA Food Bank and Father’s Table

The fight against systemic food insecurity requires a massive, coordinated ecosystem. HLAT does not do this work in a silo. We are incredibly proud to partner with organizations that share our vision for a nourished, equitable Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: As a key supplier and strategic partner, the LA Food Bank provides Eat Manna with the massive scale of high-quality proteins, fresh produce, and nutritional staples required to feed over a thousand families a week.

Father’s Table: Essential to our community logistics, Father’s Table collaborates with us to ensure seamless delivery and distribution, getting the food from the warehouses directly to the frontlines of Inglewood.

When organizations coordinate rather than compete, the community wins.

Beyond Food — TAP Cards, Medical Enrollment & GPSS Access

We know that a bag of groceries solves the immediate crisis of a missed meal, but it does not solve the root causes of poverty. Because we have established deep trust with the community through food distribution, the Eat Manna Food Pantry serves as a vital access point for broader, life-changing social services.

During our Wednesday and Saturday distribution days, participants can access our “Beyond Food” wrap-around services right on-site:

Transit Enrollment (TAP Cards): Lack of transportation is a massive barrier to employment and healthcare. We help participants enroll in reduced-fare Metro TAP cards to get them moving.

Medical Enrollment: On-site navigators are available to assist families and individuals in registering for Medi-Cal and understanding their health insurance options in a low-pressure environment.

GPSS Access (General Public Social Services): We provide direct, warm handoffs and application assistance for General Relief, CalFresh, and other critical county safety nets.
